2008 ALB ALL-STAR GAME

In the bottom of the first, three of the first four Flitter batters singled off John Smoltz (JAB), with Ken Griffey Jr. (OUT) driving in the first run of the game. Two batters later, a Victor Martinez (BOM) double increased the lead to 2-0.

The game continued scoreless until the bottom of the fourth, when Victor Martinez greeted new pitcher Gil Meche (EXP) with a solo home run. Marlon Byrd (TUA) would later triple and come in to score on a ground out to make the score 4-0.

In the bottom of the fifth, pinch hitter David Wright (CAV) slammed a three-run homer to left as the Flitter squad opened up a 7-0 lead.

Adding insult to injury, with two outs in the seventh inning, catcher Jarrod Salalamaccia (TUA) legged out a two-run triple. He then scored on a Marlon Byrd single, his fourth hit of the game. Heading into the eighth, the score was 10-0.

The Whipsaw finally attempted to start something in the eighth with consecutive singles by Grady Sizemore (CRA) and Brian Roberts (PAD) to lead off the inning. A wild pitch brought Sizemore in to score, ending the shut out. The Whipsaw managed to load the bases, but couldn't push another run across the plate.

When the smoke cleared, the Flitter left the field with a 10-1 win. David Wright was named All-Star MVP going 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 RBI.
